Although we are all equal members in the body of Christ, God calls some into leadership positions within the church.  These men are devoted to prayer, to the Word of God, to the care of the members of Community Bible Church, and to the spread of the Gospel throughout Erie County, Pennsylvania as well as nationally and internationally.   Please pray for them and their families as they teach and equip, bring vision and leadership, give direction and oversight, and ultimately lead us to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ and make His name known!

At CBC, we are independent and autonomous in our church governance, leadership, and ministry.  Our leadership team consists of elders, minister, and pastor.

Chad Capela, Pastor

Chad grew up in Union City with his parents and two older siblings, attending Community Bible Church as a youth and dedicating his life to the Lord at the age of 14. He earned his 5-year degree in Landscape Architecture at Pennsylvania State University, Main Campus in 2000 and his Masters of Ministry from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2002. Chad returned to Union City in 2002 to take up the bi-vocational role of pastor at Community Bible Church and owner of his landscape design company. Chad and his wife Cathrin, a West Coast native, have three young children.

Chad is a passionate communicator of the gospel and loves seeing God’s Word transform his own life and the lives of those around him.
