History

Community Bible Church was established in the mid-1930s by local Union City families, such as George Capela and John Kozy. These families met in their own homes on a rotation schedule.  By the mid-1940s, the people worshiping God in their homes had increased and the members decided to purchase a schoolhouse at 5000 Route 6, Union City, Pennsylvania.  In this new location the church continued to grow and by 1972 additions were made to the building to include classrooms, a foyer, facilities, and improved parking lots.

Although originally named the Apostolic Christian Church of Union City, the name Community Bible Church of Union City was adopted in 2010 to clarify our identity and promote community outreach.

Community

The ideal state of fellowship is communion within the body of Christ by intimate participation in the works of God. We also seek to love our neighbors in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible

God’s Word is the foundation of our doctrine and teaching.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Church

We are a gathering of believers.

Acts 9:31  So the church ... enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

While independent and autonomous in our church governance, leadership, and ministry, we are loosely affiliated with like-minded churches from our founding denomination in the area of family church camps and foreign mission support.  We are equally supportive and involved with other evangelical churches and ministries in our community.
